Brenda & Johnathan with their dogs Lump and SweetPea in their truck “Rosie”
Coming from Canada, they had no experience with MAN or Mercedes expedition chassis
and relied on trust and guidance. Their priorities were clear: space for their large dogs in the
cab, smart storage solutions and a truck powerful enough to carry their dreams without
compromise. Today, Rosie stands on a 16-ton build with a 20-ton, 450 HP chassis – because
when the goal is the world, underpowered is not an option. With thoughtful additions like a
second alternator, sliding garage rack, roof storage box, extra air connections and E-bike
racks, they created a vehicle built for real independence. Inside, a spacious shower, open-
concept living area and a functional kitchen reflect their lifestyle, while Starlink, recovery
gear, tools and spare parts ensure they are ready for whatever lies ahead.

Lessons from the Road
In the past 2 years, Rosie has already carried them across the UK and Scotland – including
the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland – through Bosnia & Herzegovina, Morocco,
Western Sahara and Mauritania, as well as Germany, Italy and just recently Tunisia. They’ve
taken ferries to chase island horizons, explored desert pistes, navigated the chaos of
Nouakchott and stood in the Dolomites with a glass of wine in hand. They’ve been stuck in
the desert more than once and experienced a full electrical shutdown – challenges solved
with the help of fellow travelers and the KRUG team. Because expedition travel is not about
avoiding obstacles, but about being equipped to overcome them.

They travel day-by-day whenever possible, guided by local recommendations and curiosity
rather than fixed itineraries. Planning is only necessary when borders demand it – China,
Mongolia and the “Stans” are next. At heart, they are wanderers who believe that choosing
the right layout, the right weight and the right powertrain is essential when living full-time on
the road. Rosie moves confidently on- and off-road — exactly as intended.

A Whole Lotta World Left
Next stop: China – taking the long way through Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, the Stans and
Mongolia. There is no final destination, only the road ahead. “We’ll keep traveling until we
can’t haul ourselves up into the cab anymore.” There’s a whole lotta world out there – and
with Rosie, they plan to see it all.
